Sony Cyber-shot RX100 VI Pocket-sized Superzoom Unveiled

Sony’s RX100 line is becoming somewhat legendary and the new RX100 VI looks to be more of the same. Sony continues to push boundaries with the RX100 VI, adding a 24-200mm f/2.8-4.5 zoom lens on the still-pocketable camera – all the while keeping its signature 20.1MP 1″ image sensor.

The RX100 VI’s sensor is a stacked Exmore RS CMOS with DRAM chip and an upgraded BIONZ X processor with a front-end LSI – providing faster processing and better image quality. The VI also features Sony’s Fast Hybrid AF system with 315-point phase detect AF points with a claimed focus acquisition speed of 0.03, which is best-in-class speed for 1″ cameras. It can also shoot at up to 24 fps at full resolution with continuous AF/AE tracking and captures 4K video with full pixel readout and no pixel binning.
